A Relationship Shaped by Purpose
Sharjah Sports Council plays a central role in advancing sport across the Emirate, supporting elite competition, community participation, and internationally recognised sporting events. As a government sports authority, its initiatives demand credibility, ceremony, and objects that reflect both institutional stature and athletic excellence.
Crystal Arc partnered with Sharjah Sports Council to create the official trophies for one of the region’s most prominent cycling events. The collaboration was defined by a shared understanding of the importance of symbolism, precision, and presence, ensuring the final piece would hold its own on an international stage while remaining rooted in Sharjah’s cultural identity.
Designing Tournament Trophies and Medals
Crystal Arc developed the trophy for the 11th Sharjah International Tour as a sculptural object with a strong architectural presence. The form was conceived as a tall, vertically emphasised structure, symbolising endurance, progression, and competitive ascent, qualities intrinsic to both cycling and sporting achievement.
Repeating geometric patterns inspired by regional architectural motifs were integrated into the surface, introducing rhythm and texture while grounding the design in Sharjah’s visual language. A split vertical composition added depth and subtle movement, reflecting the dynamics of cycling and continual forward momentum of competitive.
The trophy was designed and produced entirely in-house, allowing full control over detailing, timelines, and consistency across the complete set of pieces.
Gold Plating and Podium Presence
Material choice and craftsmanship were central to the execution. The trophy was produced in a polished gold finish to convey prestige and victory, with careful attention to surface consistency, edge refinement, and pattern clairty.
Weight and balance were carefully engineered to ensure the piece felt substantial and ceremonial when lifted on the podium. Rather than functioning as a decorative object, the trophy was designed to be an experience, reinforcing its role as a symbol of achievement. The base was developed for stability and clear identification, ensuring a strong visual presence during presentation and photography.
Forming, Plating and Finishing
Each trophy progressed through a fully in-house process that combined technical fabrication with controlled finishing. Production stages included metal forming, finishing, engraving, and quality control, with multiple checks conducted throughout to ensure consistency and precision.
Every surface was refined to maintain visual clarity while preserving the sculptural integrity of the form, allowing light to interact cleanly with the patterns and vertical structure.
Podium Readiness
At Crystal Arc, we view ceremonial objects as extensions of the moment they represent. The scale, finish, and balance of the trophy were calibrated to perform under live presentation conditions, ensuring the piece translated seamlessly from design intent to podium ceremony.
Final inspections were completed prior to the event to ensure accuracy, consistency, and finish, reflecting the standards expected of a government-led international sporting platform.

The defining moment of the project took place during the podium ceremony of the Sharjah International Tour (11th Edition), where the trophies were presented by senior representatives of Sharjah Sports Council to the winning cyclists.
