Crystal Arc’s collaboration with FIFA on the Arab Cup trophy marked a significant milestone for the company. As the official organiser of the tournament, FIFA entrusted Crystal Arc with creating a trophy that would represent more than a single victory. It would call for a piece that symbolises unity, strength and regional pride across the Arab world.
As a first collaboration, the project reflected a shared commitment to precision, clarity of vision, and meaning-driven design. Being selected for a tournament of this scale reinforced Crystal Arc’s capability to deliver landmark pieces for globally recognised institutions.
FIFA’s impact on the world of sports extends far beyond competition. As a governing body, it plays a central role in shaping football as a unifying global language. The Arab Cup holds particular cultural importance, celebrating collective identity and shared heritage through a tournament rooted in regional pride and international visibility.
Designing a Tournament Trophy for a Global Broadcast
The Arab Cup trophy was designed as a sculptural statement, intended to communicate movement, balance, and collective strength. Its form was developed to feel confident and enduring, with flowing geometry that suggested progression and unity without relying on ornamentation. The design language was carefully aligned with the visual heritage of FIFA’s most iconic trophies, ensuring continuity with the highest level of the sport while maintaining a distinct identity of its own
Proportion, stance, and surface treatment were carefully considered to ensure the trophy carried the physical and visual authority expected of a FIFA competition. The weight and balance were engineered to give the piece a grounded, ceremonial presence when lifted, while remaining refined in display.
From concept development through to final execution, the trophy was designed and produced entirely in-house at Crystal Arc, allowing direct control over quality, timelines, and final outcome, in line with the expectations of an international tournament of this calibre.
The Piece: A Cup Built to Be Lifted
At its core, the trophy was developed as a symbolic object rather than a decorative artefact. Each contour and transition was shaped to reflect strength and continuity, ensuring the piece felt timeless rather than trend-driven.
During internal evaluations, the trophy, while visually complete, was assessed to feel lighter than the stature required for the moment it was designed to represent. In response, the internal structure was re-engineered to enhance its physical presence and weight, reinforcing the send of significance when held.
The defining moment came when the trophy was lifted by Abderrazak Hamdallah, creating a lasting image of victory and celebration. That moment cemented the trophy as a permanent symbol of the tournament’s legacy.
Forming, Plating and Finishing the Trophy
The Arab Cup trophy progressed through a carefully controlled in-house production process that balanced technical precision with detailed finishing. Every surface was refined to achieve clarity, consistency, and depth, ensuring the trophy responded beautifully to light from every angle. The sculptural form, defined by a continuous twisting silhouette, was designed to convey unity, momentum, and elevation, drawing the eye upward toward the globe as a symbol of global competition and collective identity.
The contrast between the polished gold body and the darker, grounded base was deliberately engineered to create visual weight and stability, reinforcing the trophy’s presence both on display and when held. Multiple internal quality checks were conducted throughout production, with final inspections completed prior to delivery. This process ensured accuracy, finish, and consistency, reinforcing Crystal Arc’s commitment to delivering at the highest international standard.
Why We Rebuilt It Mid-Production
Attention to detail played a critical role in ensuring the trophy felt complete, both visually and physically. From surface refinement to final assembly, every element was reviewed to ensure alignment with FIFA’s expectations and the significance of the occasion. The weight of the trophy was also carefully engineered, with mass and balance intentionally calibrated so the piece felt substantial in hand, reinforcing its importance and the gravity of the moment it represents.
Quality control was not treated as a final step, but as an ongoing process embedded throughout development, ensuring the trophy reflected not only the tournament it represented, but the reliability and craftsmanship behind its creation.
Presented at the Final
The trophy was officially presented at the FIFA Arab Cup Final on December 18, 2025, marking a landmark moment for the tournament and a proud chapter for Crystal Arc as a trusted creator on the international stage.
