Fujairah International Airport is a strategic aviation gateway that plays a vital role in regional connectivity, logistics, and economic development within the UAE. As an infrastructure-led government entity, its milestones require objects that reflect architectural intent, engineering discipline, and institutional authority.
Crystal Arc partnered with Fujairah International Airport to create a bespoke commemorative piece that translated the airport’s physical identity into a refined sculptural form.
Designing Around Aviation Form
The trophy was designed as a direct three-dimensional interpretation of Fujairah International Airport’s architectural form. Rather than abstracting aviation themes, the design draws from the airport’s distinctive structure, capturing its sweeping lines, layered volumes, and engineered flow.
The curved metal planes and intersecting forms mirror the building’s silhouette and spatial rhythm, allowing the piece to feel immediately connected to the airport itself. The compact, grounded base was deliberately proportioned to support the vertical movement of the form, reinforcing stability while allowing the architecture-inspired geometry to remain the focal point.
Polished Metal and the Line of Flight
Material selection and craftsmanship were central to execution. The piece was produced in a brushed silver metal finish to echo the material language of modern infrastructure and aviation architecture, conveying strength, precision, and longevity.
Surface continuity, edge refinement, and controlled reflections were carefully managed to preserve the integrity of the architectural form. Weight and balance were engineered to ensure the trophy felt substantial and authoritative when handled, reinforcing its role as a formal institutional recognition piece.
Metal Forming and Hand-Finishing
The project was designed and produced fully in-house at Crystal Arc, including metal fabrication, finishing, engraving, and quality control. This end-to-end control ensured accuracy to the original architectural inspiration and consistency in execution.
This fully integrated process allowed complete control over proportion, finish, and delivery, ensuring the final piece met the expectations of a government body.
At Crystal Arc, built environments are approached with respect and discipline. The trophy was refined to function as a physical extension of the airport’s design language, distilled into form, material, and balance.
Final inspections were completed prior to presentation to ensure precision, finish, and visual clarity remained uncompromised.
